INEOS and Norwegian recycler Recuro have signed an MoU to develop an advanced plastics recycling facility at INEOS’ Bamble site in Norway. The “Full Circle” plant is planned to process up to 33,000 tonnes of end-of-life plastic waste annually.
Powered by renewable energy, the facility will use pyrolysis technology to recover both oil and gas fractions for further use. Integration into the existing industrial infrastructure is expected to reduce costs and emissions.
INEOS plans to use the recycled feedstock at its nearby Rafnes cracker to produce recycled ethylene and subsequently virgin-quality recycled polyethylene at Bamble. The material is intended for demanding applications such as food and medical packaging and to support compliance with EU recycling requirements.
